Rule Changes Proposed For Georgia
Public Fishing Areas SOCIAL CIRCLE, GA—The Georgia
Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is considering two
fishing regulation changes for the state's public fishing
areas (PFA). These include allowing individual anglers to
use more than two lines and the use of cast nets to
collect shad for bait on certain PFA lakes. The baitfish
could not be transported to other waters.
DNR Fisheries Biologist Ted Bendricks says the proposed
changes would allow the DNR to continue to meet angler
needs and requests, while still properly managing the PFAs.
A public meeting will be held at the Charlie Elliott
Wildlife Center in Jasper County on April 19 to present
and discuss these changes with the public.
